Major Projects

  • Certification & Testing Laboratory — Information Management & Resources Division, Mellon Bank, Pittsburgh, PA

Planned, designed, engineered, and installed a laboratory to test the introduction of new desktop hardware and software into Mellon Bank’s corporate networking environment in an isolated and controlled test environment. The laboratory consisted of NetWare 4.1, 3.12, and MS Windows NT 4.0 file servers, workstations configured for multi-boot operation (Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, PC/MS-DOS, and Windows 3.1 both locally installed and operating in a shared/network configuration, and IBM OS/2 Warp vers. 3 & 4). Test protocols included IPX/SPX (NetWare), TCP/IP, and SNA (for host mainframe access). The lab could be operated on either Ethernet 100/10-Base-T or 16 MBps Token-Ring. In addition, created testing and evaluation procedures.
